ACADEMIC YEAR 2009 – 2010
In this workshop we ask teachers and pupils to reflect on how the body can be used for educational purposes and the methods of knowledge construction that can arise from this. Based on Artaud’s premise that it is impossible to “separate the mind from the body and the senses from intelligence," over the course of the three sessions in the workshop we will address the creative potential of action in different settings (school, museum, street), thereby encouraging a critical awareness of everyday experiences. The first two sessions in the activity (each lasting 2 hours) take place at the school, which the CA2M educators will travel to. At these sessions the pupils will be introduced to the practice through personal experience and analysis. In the third session (lasting 3 hours), the pupils will travel to the CA2M to watch and comment on video performances by contemporary artists and to conduct actions at the museum.
