DANCING THE NEIGHBOURHOOD
WHO FITS WHERE AND WHERE DOES WHAT FIT
AFTER-SCHOOL WORKSHOP WITH THE DANCER RAQUEL SÁNCHEZ
Aimed at children from 8 to 12
What could fit in my hand?
How many people fit in a hug?
Can you run faster than your shadow?
Do I disappear when I close my eyes?
This year, together with the group of children taking part in Dancing the Neighbourhood, we want to run a lot without moving from our place, to fill the entire space without lifting our feet from the ground, to disappear behind another person and reappear somewhere else.
Do you believe that places can be invented?
Together with Raquel Sánchez we will create riddles in space in order to listen to the body within a climate of group confidence where we will discover the pleasure of movement and expand our capacity to expressive ourselves and to interrelate with other people.
To this end we will play with everyday phenomena like the effect of gravity, the space we occupy or leave empty, the rhythm created by our walking or how to breathe while laughing.
Raquel Sánchez is dedicated to pedagogy and the practice of performing arts.
