When Elena was little everybody used to say “tu hermana” (your sister) when talking about her sister Selina, until she came to the conclusion that her real name was actually Tuhermana; and then Tuhermana eventually morphed into Tomana, which, to this day, is still the way they refer to one another.
And now we find ourselves in this autumn workshop with Selina and Elena, who want to push back the envelope of what “sister” means, to think of it both inside and outside the family; as a bond, as a cry, as a raised fist, as an embrace.
Selina Blasco is a lecturer in Fine Arts at UCM and the mother of Selina Feduchi, architect, and Elena Feduchi, designer and photographer. And now the three of them live together.
