Open Space Black Box/ White Cube? Thinking of the periphery

TEATRO PRADILLO. 12:00 19:00 H.

Within the cycle of performances, the learning communities of PAM! Teatro Pradillo and Las Lindes will organise an OPEN SPACE to actively reflect on the concept of «performativity», as well as its derivatives and applications within our artistic and political context, and on the frameworks in which the performative practices are currently positioned and how these determine the production of meanings.

If the concept of «performativity» refers to the capacity of some forms of expression to become actions and transform reality, could we take on the figure of the emancipated thinker and set forth our own definitions and applications of this concept and derive our own everyday performative experience through its meanings? Could we perform the concept of performativity, that is, alter it and appropriate it for ourselves?

We invite you to accompany us on a journey that will begin on Thursday 3 April at 20:00 in CA2M with the performance of Sweating the Discourse (2013) by Aimar P. Galí and the group artistic intervention by Black Tulip, it will continue in Teatro Pradillo on Saturday 5, from 17 to 21 hours, with the Open Space Black Box/ White Cube? Thinking of the periphery in which, through a self-training methodology, we will be excited, ask ourselves questions, we will talk and we will plot maps, sharing our own knowledge, and the journey will end once again in CA2M on Sunday 6, at 18.30 with the piece Death Is Certain (2002) by Eva Meyer Keller and 19/03/2014 by Tere Recarens.

In collaboration with Teatro Pradillo (c/Pradillo, 12, Madrid)
