If you spend a lot of time watching music videos on youtube or if you never miss the latest list of must-see hits, then you are definitely part of the “videoclip generation”.

To what extent have images from music videos clips entered our bodies? In this four-session workshop we have invited the artists Magdalena Leite and Aníbal Conde to explore the relationship between images and the body. We will work with videos and dance and rethink in the practice how these choreographies impact on us and condition our ways of moving. The workshops provide a space in which to create our own music videos and to defend popular art forms, and their aesthetic and political import.

Magdalena Leite is a Uruguayan choreographer and dancer based in Mexico. Her work is focused on a search for possible responses to aesthetic problems associated with dance and contemporary art.

Aníbal Conde is a Uruguayan artist whose work straddles video and performance conceived on the crossroad of disciplines. His art practice embraces theatre, choreography and documentary making engaging with processes of creation in the performing arts.

Over recent years UHF has featured the participation of artists like: Los Bárbaros, Raisa Maudit,  Silvia Ulloa, Pablo Serret de Ena, Alex Reynolds, Jorge Dutor & Guillem Mont de Palol, Anto Rodriguez, Patricia Esquivias, Iván Argote, Fermín Jiménez Landa, David Domingo, Momu & No Es, Begoña Olavarrieta, Pili Álvarez, Sergio Mancarro and Cristina Busto.
