The first session started at 20:59 on Saturday, just one minute before the museum closed. That day we set up camp to spend the night inside, to imagine what would happen next, to dream of what was to come. Then we decided that we had to cook something, to eat and be together. To make secret mobile food, something that could travel depending on the time of year, from the schoolroom to the roof terrace. We fantasised about building our own space on the roof. We loved the idea of becoming builders, to make a shelter, fire, a campsite and a hut for living in. Then one day Ugly appeared, a kind of pink, viscous, undetermined and shapeless construction. A magical and somewhat precarious place on the roof.
Sub21 is a self-run group of young people between the ages of sixteen and twenty-one who are interested in culture, art and community life. It focuses on utopian art practices that propose experimental forms of organisation, dissident attitudes and collective processes of creation. For this school year we will be dreaming about the idea of travelling, of going to other places, of getting lost.
At the moment, the members of the Sub21 team are: Paula Díaz Cano, Sandra Esteban López, Nadia Ettahri, Adriana Tomás, Marina Viñarás Germano, Miriam Domínguez García, Daniela Tovar Rodríguez, Johan Sebastián García Molina, Rosario O'Kelly, Daniela Alias, Hugo P and Tamara Serrano Cabello.
Young people aged 16 to 21 years.
