THE CONQUEST OF THE USELESS
The under-21 team is a group of young people between the ages of sixteen and twenty-one who are interested in culture, art and community life. It focuses on utopian art practices that propose experimental forms of organisation, dissident attitudes and collective processes of creation. For this school year we will be dreaming about the idea of travelling, of going to other places, of getting lost. We will continue to think about experimenting with different ways of working collectively, focused on generating spaces where we can create, share and waste time.
IMAGINE CROSSING THROUGH A WALL. WORKSHOP WITH THE ARTIST MARTA VAN TARTWIJK
May - June 2020
I am the voice you have heard on the phone. Well, not actually the voice. Now I am the hand that writes. In fact, now I am the text on your screen. To be honest, I am more the eye that reads the text. Your eye. Yes, I am your eye. Maybe I am everything that arises in the distance that separates me from you. Between writing and reading. In order for there to be a distance, you are at one point and I at another. And that’s what it’s all about, not the distance in itself, but the place where we are and how we situate ourselves in it.
To form a group in the distance is very, very strange. When we invited Marta to think of something pleasing that would make sense in the distance we wondered how we could propose a project in which we could be together but from our individual homes. Over the space of a few weeks the artist Marta van Tartwijk carried out a workshop with our Under-21 team to explore the creative potential of the domestic. A collective and artistic process that wishes to probe the limits of intimacy.
At the moment, the members of the Sub21 team are: Diego Alonso, Alicia Arévalo Gallego, Cristina Bermúdez Garrido, Paula Díaz Cano, Miriam Domínguez García, Sandra Esteban López, Nadia Ettahri, Claudia Fernández Concepción, Marina Lillo García, Irene Lloret Miguel, Elisa Lozano Triviño, Fabiana Marques Abatemarco, Richard Moreno Campechano, Marina Olympia Rodriguez Ibáñez, Rosario O'Kelly, Hugo P, Daniel Perera García, Iris Perpiñá Fabra, Rubén Reyes Carrasco, Tamara Serrano Cabello and Marina Viñarás Germano.
Aimed at young people between the ages of 16 and 21 years.
