But … Is this art?
CA2M organises educational activities on contemporary art and thinking that can be framed within the tradition of community colleges, aimed particularly at young and adult students.
PICNIC SESSIONS 2022. VITAL SUPPORT
At the beginning of the 19th century, The Picnic Society was born in London, an association that met regularly in the open air and in whose meetings each member was expected to contribute part of the entertainment and refreshments without there being a specific host. Based on this concept, and as a Picnic Society, the Museo Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo invites several curators each year to design a program for the Museum's terrace. Every Thursday from the end of May to the end of June, our terrace becomes a space in which we develop a program of activities in which the body and sound are mixed with the educational and participatory.
All cinemas were for me
Six seminal movies, six true works of art and sources of aesthetic (and ethical) pleasure. Six ethical and (aesthetic) hypotheses whose characters mutate.
COVEN OF FANZINES: READING GROUP
This year, we want to focus on the books that inhabit our shelves. Under the guidance of the library manager, Sonia Seco, we will bring to light some bibliographic oddities; these, in turn, will lead us to an endless number of possible texts and readings.
SONGS AND SWEETS: MI CASA SIN PATIO
Children's songs function as a connecting thread of memories, generations and lives separated in space and time. We will put the memory of the older people to play with the intuition of the younger ones, and so turn a nursery rhyme into a song of our lives today: altering the lyrics, trying out instruments and inventing a dance for any age.
MALICIOUS MISCHIEF WITH AGUSTÍN PÉREZ RUBIO
Agustín Pérez Rubio, co-curator of the exhibition, invites us to join him on a tour to discover and talk about the various layers of the work of the US-Chinese artist Martin Wong.
