The ARCO Community of Madrid Award for Young Artists was created in 2004 to recognise the best work of art (including painting, drawing, comic, engraving, sculpture, mixed media, photography, installation and any other medium of artistic expression, without any limitations on either the theme or the technique) made by artists no older than 40, whose sale price does not exceed €35,000, and which has been exhibited in the corresponding edition of the ARCO Fair. The Community of Madrid acquires the award-winning work, which becomes part of CA2M’s Contemporary Art Collection.

MIGUEL MARINA (Madrid, 1989).
In his practice, he uses processes that merge the concepts of idea, image and material. This work, Untitled (2024), seeks to analyse and ponder the landscape and the different elements comprising it through painting and the different artistic byways offered by this medium. It is a fragmented narration that summons up the handcrafted as a point of departure when interacting with his work day to day.
FUENTESAL ARENILLAS
This duo, Julia Fuentesal (Huelva, 1986) and Pablo M. Arenillas (Cádiz, 1989), is characterised by their unmistakable inheritance from Andalusian sculpture. La danza mudanza I y II (2023) is Fuentesal Arenillas’s award-winning installation. In their artistic practice, they explore the playful dimension as a production of signs, so their pieces are an intersection of autobiographical parts with formal resources like the double figure and repetition, with chance included as an essential component.
