SESSION 3. WATER IN ITS MAXIMUM SPLENDOUR. TUESDAY 4 OCTOBER 6:00-8:00 pm.
After our first two routes around the waters and outskirts of Móstoles, it is time for a visit to the El Soto natural park.
The El Soto park is closely associated with water, not just for the El Soto stream that runs through it and also its artificial lake, but because it allows us to discover two vital processes in the cycle of its use by humans: its abstraction for consumption and the purification of waste water.
El Soto contains remains of the first pumping system which supplied water to Móstoles and there is also a sewage treatment plant.
Following a long hot summer with continuous warnings of impending drought, we will meet in the park and take a critical look at the aquatic fantasies we are bombarded with and then develop our own ones for Móstoles.
Meet at the entrance to Móstoles-El Soto train station at 5:45 pm.
We recommend comfortable footwear.
