CAPSULE COLLECTION: SARA RAMO
This metal dinosaur is a ‘part’ of a larger group of artworks made from pieces of playground furniture from the 1970s, made in collaboration with the Mamoan family business in the city of Bello Horizonte in Brazil, which continues using the same designs from decades ago.
The curator, Bernardo de Souza, points out that the complete sculptural group – exhibited for the first time at the 9th Mercosul Biennial in 2013 – is like a symbolic dinosaur cemetery but also represents human impact on the environment. Two years later it was included in the exhibition A mão negativa at the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Lage in Río de Janeiro, where other group works are still on display.
Sara Ramo (Madrid, 1975) exhibited for the first time at the CA2M in 2012 with the exhibition, No Heroics, Please. She is recognised today as one of the fundamental voices of young Spanish art as well as in Brazil, where she lives.

Let’s Think Positive came about in 2003 as part of the exhibition If Alive that Manuel Saiz presented at the Museu de L’Empordà in Figueres, Girona. The idea behind the exhibition was the beginning of the preparations for his future 65th birthday on the 10th of January 2026.
