The CA2M, in the Region of Madrid, presents its programme of activities for this autumn

15 November 2021 - The CA2M Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo in the Region of Madrid presents a wide range of activities for everyone, all free of charge.

On 27 November from 12:00 to 20:00, the annual Autoplacer Festival will take place. It remains faithful to its commitment towards promoting an independent music scene, self-releases and non-commercial music projects and alternative production processes. Eight hours of live music with performances by Amor Butano, Cabiria, Luz Futuro, Viuda, Xenia, Navxja and Okomo.

Alongside the Dialecto CA2M exhibition is the creation of the Dialectal Cinema cycle, which will screen some of the most interesting films acquired in recent years and which are part of the CA2M Collection. These include traditional film and discussion format, but with exceptional artists. Every Thursday at 18:30 until 2 December. Admission free (limited seats available).

Until 15 December: a new edition of Universidad Popular, along the lines of training activities in contemporary art and critical thinking, aimed in particular at young and adult audiences alike. This year is dedicated to libraries. Every Wednesday at 18:00. Admission free (limited seats available).

Activities on the Terrace Garden are also back but have been changed to Thursdays from 11:30 to 13:30. We’ll continue working together and sharing knowledge about agriculture and ecology.

Once a month, there will be a session of Ciudad Sur (South City). This space – for experimenting together – takes Móstoles as its starting point, and will take an in-depth look at the rich heritage that brings about a sense of belonging in the cities that encircle the centre of Madrid. A programme of collective participation in which each session is collectively shaped by the previous one.

The Un zumbido azul (A Blue Buzz) research group will hold workshops and public activities that revolve around grief and loss. The full programme consists of several workshops which address mourning, how it is represented, and the protocols and rituals involved.

This year’s educational programme focuses on several lines of work ranging from activities related to formal education for primary and secondary school groups as well as teacher training, such as the Visit-workshop for all secondary school students. It also includes Visitas posicionadas (Positioned Visits) to see the Dialecto CA2M exhibition, and which take place on Saturdays at 18:30.

Extracurricular activities include: the outstanding extracurricular “movement and dance” workshop Bailar el Barrio (Dancing the District) for children aged 7 to 12; specific programmes for young people that include Las Sin Nombre (The Nameless Ones), a space where teenagers aged 13 to 18 can explore; and the U21 team, a group made up of young people aged 16 to 21 who are interested in art and culture. 

In addition, new lines of research have been incorporated. These include the Proyecto de 0 a 6 años 0 to 6 (0- to 6-Year-Olds Project), whose aim is to take an in-depth look at what is seemingly less significant, and Solstice, a working group for young people who have been part of the U21 Team for many years. For adults, the Grupo de Lectura (Book Club) and Un Coro Amateur (An Amateur Choir) are held every other Thursday from 17:00 to 20:00 until the end of June.
