Contarlo todo sin saber cómo
Exhibition

Telling everything, Not Knowing How comes around to the view of narrativity with the intention of asking what can be done and what can be told from the art side, which role plays the emotion within the narrative and also which fiction, reality, political and social contents appear within the contemporary creation.

Lara Almacergui. Madrid subterráneo
Exhibition

Wastelands, construction materials, layers from abandoned cities within their proper development process or whatever is underneath, are just some of the subjects introduced in Almarcegui’s work and presented herein as a retrospective contextualization of the art work specially created for CA2M entitled Madrid Underneath.

Aernout Mik
Exhibition

Wilfredo Prieto Cuba Libre
Exhibition

Collection V focuses on the experience of the viewer within the exhibition space through a selection of works from the CA2M collection which, inherited from the minimalist and conceptual trends from the sixties, addresses a concern for the phenomenological relation with the viewer and the space that hosts them.

Sin heroísmos, por favor
Exhibition

No Heroics, Please is the title of a posthumous compilation of short stories written by the American novelist and poet Raymond Carver during his youth. The exhibition, does credit to the book, focus on the idea of the demystification of the creative act, considering that the proper creation itself is a heroic and claiming act, in this case, the importance of the daily happenings considered as daily militancy.

Gregor Schneider

In Dead End, Gregor Schneider’s project for CA2M, the artist has situated himself in a theoretical no man’s land at the point of contact between the vestiges of the traditional house that once occupied the site of the museum in Mostoles and the present building itself. Visitors wend their way through a vast, enclosed labyrinth of pipes that extend throughout the centre.

Colección IV

One of CA2M objective is working with its entire art collection: preserving, studying, exhibiting and bringing it closer to the public through educational activities. Collection  IV entails reflection on the perspective of the architectonic, real and fictitious spaces.

Walead Besthy

Walead Beshty: A Diagram of Forces features an overview of the work of this artist through a selection of his works from the past ten years. Using the intersections between the three overlapping grid systems present in the floor plan of the CA2M, Beshty will design an exhibition that has both a physical and conceptual experience of “in-betweenness” evidenced in the sharp angles, abrupt turns, and off-kilter placements of the walls.
